IBCH / Creditinfo SCHUFA Supports Erste Bank (Ukraine) in Application Scoring
Erste Bank Ukraine, the subsidiary of the Austrian Bank has looked to IBCH, the leading Ukrainian Credit Bureau and Creditinfo Decision, the risk management consultancy, to develop a pooled application scorecard to support the expansion of their consumer lending in Ukraine.
The application scorecard built on a pooled set of data from IBCH Credit Bureau has enabled Erste Bank to implement a crucial component of its risk management infrastructure as it prepares to extend the consumer scoring having focused on existing customers during the crisis.
A rich source of data for predictive pooled scorecard
The management team at IBCH was aware that they held a great resource on the database, and looked to use this to support those banks that had curtailed or reduced lending during the crisis. As now those forward looking banks realise it is important to have predictive and relevant credit scorecards to be competitive in the Ukrainian banking market.
According to Iryna Mykolayenko, Head of the Management Board of IBCH, “It was very important that we could work with an international company with the experience of Creditinfo SCHUFA. In addition to knowing how Creditinfo can develop scorecards effectively, we know that they will behave responsibly in using the data entrusted to us by the banks. This is one of the many other projects that we are currently undertaking jointly with our strategic partner and a shareholder - Creditinfo Schufa”.
Milan Valasek, Head of Risk Management at Erste Bank, said “It was important to us to work with IBCH and Creditinfo Schufa with their unique combination of experience of the Ukrainian market as well as the international risk management when selecting a partner for a pooled application scorecard, and we are satisfied with the results”.
